Delver laid off 5 employees (out of 25)

Okay, it seems like the cuts are beginning. Delver has just laid-off 20% of their workforce (5 employees out of 25). Delver is into 'Social-Search'. They claim that this happened because of the low dollar (against the shekel) and not because of the world crisis, although that didn't help as well.

Yoomba laid-off 17 out of 23 employees in Israel

Yoomba has just laid off 75% of its Israeli work-force: 17 out of 23 employees. They say that the US activity will not be hurt. Yoomba has raised several million dollars from leading VCs, and are 'not worried about the future of the company'...

Modular Patterns is a new startup (the founders are the ones behind Joongel). They have raised 100K$ seed from Yossi Vardi. They want to do something with collaborative-web apps, but we do not know more.

Mercado was closed just like week, and now we learn that Omniture Acquires Mercado (or some of its assets, anyway) - reportedly for 6.5M$. 70M$ were invested in Mercado over the years, and Omniture is excited at the low-cost purchase...

My Things has raised 5M$, from Dotcorp Asset Management and GP Bullhound Sidecar. My Things is a web platform to handle "all the things you've got" - for companies and persons. It allows you to save warranty data, orders from companies, etc.

Wix raised 3.5M$

Wix just announced a 3.5M$ funding round from Mangrove Venture Capital and Bessemer Ventures. Wix allows users to easily create flash-based web pages, and plans to charge a small monthly fee to give an ad-free version.
